About Me
By day I am a Sr. Software Engineer at Servant Systems in Chelsea, Michigan.
By moonlight I am the president and CEO of Forbesoft. I have servers housed at Online Technologies, a colocation facility at Avis Farms in Ann Arbor. My services include web software development, database management, Google Maps integration, web design, web hosting, providing email through the Google Apps, and a variety of internet and social media marketing consulting.
My wife and I are parents of two awesome kids. We just finished up (is it ever really done?) a huge nesting project, a self-build of our dream log home where we wish to retire. I grew up around a dad, an engineer, who was handy and mentored by his dad in building construction. As a result, through research and learning from him, I did the electrical, plumbing, radiant floor basement, pole barn garage, tongue and groove ceilings, log stairs and railings, deck, insulation, hardwood flooring, trim, paver walkway, and plan on doing the Cultured Stone chimney exterior.
Hobbies, time permitting, include building handmade cedar Squirrel Chair Feeders, woodworking, doing “fix-it” stuff, world travel, mission trips through MOST Ministries, road running, trail running, swimming, mountain biking, road biking, triathlons, participating in the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan Wish-A-Mile 300 mile bike tour, back country camping, hiking, nordic and downhill skiing, mountain climbing, fishing, playing my euphonium, listening to talk radio, local and global politics, leading the Iowa Club of Southeast Michigan, playing with our dog Cody, finding new and unique dining locations, church small groups, church ministry, board gaming, video gaming, Spanish, and the list goes on!
